The National Museum of Anthropology, the museum of museums, is integrated into the artistic and cultural corridor that joins the Tamayo, the National Museum of Art and the Chapultepec Castle National Museum of History. It was inaugurated in 1964 as a space of collective memory in which you can travel through the past in its archeology rooms, and the present in the ethnographic rooms, which pay homage to the original peoples that make up and enrich our country. It is an immense site featuring 22 halls, 45,000 square meters and beautiful pieces from such important cultures as the Mexica, Maya and Toltec. It is almost impossible to see it all in one visit; it is better to choose a couple of halls to enjoy the details of each work. End your visit with a photo under the umbrella, the fountain in the central courtyard, and let Mexico’s rich history envelop you.
